I forgot to take my medicine for 2 days. I really need a routine. As much as it will be hard to go back to work after summer vacation, I need to have some organization back. And Keith and I need to get into a "married" routine. Right now, its more playtime for me. And I need to remember to take my thyroid med.

It is supposed to be cooler outside but it is damn hot in this room....my temp room for my computer. As soon as my new one is ready, it is going upstairs because 1....it will be cooler, and 2....it will have found its home and right now, this room is not conducive to thinking. Which is my excuse why my blog has failed to be insightful and full of wisdom....cause we are all searching for that aren't we?

I have a bug. A traveling bug. I have been exploring places to which I want to travel. And I keep thinking of more. Don't get me wrong.....I love my home and my job and being here with friends, but meeting people from around the country, having family and friends from all over....they have added to my love of traveling. I like to find out of the way places....and unique shops and stops when I travel. I like reading books about new places and planning things to do. I wish we could just pick up and go each weekend or even for longer. But, work begins again soon so I know that will have to come first for a while.

However, we are planning a weekend trip in October to somewhere in PA or OH for just 2 days. Just to be with each other. And I think that is part of what I love about traveling......going with my husband and seeing these places together. And being alone with all the other people. Sharing the minutes, the food, the sites....the laughter and the quiet. It doesn't mean we don't go visit other people (friends, family, etc) it just means that we see new places together, or re-visit others to share.

I am having a lazy day. It has thundered and stormed off and on here for about 2 hours, and I have spent the day either running errands or making phone calls. But, MY NEW COMPUTER IS HERE!!! I am going to either call or email our tech teacher and see if she can meet me Tuesday morning to set it all up for me. I am sooooo excited, and Keith has said we should just get another line for the computer since the cost is less than we both thought. Today, I also, made an appointment for cut and hi-lite for my hair (late Sept since I have a few things happening in October)....called and updated my cell phone information....paid deposit on our carpeting.....and called the phone company to bitch about still being a blocked number. I also went to another library booksale and spent about 20 bucks. It was not as big or as crazy as the last one, but I did get a few great books to try out....and some I have wanted to add to my collection. (and even one or two for my seniors who need help with vocab for the SATs.)

Its dinner time so I will be back later....have much to do online this evening (and Keith will either be watching the Steelers play football or going to work).

By the way....COOL AORTAL...I have been there to check it out already....looks like a cool bookmark for me!!

Another pretty day here in PA. And the mouse is gone. He was caught by our trap and Keith took him outside. Gone. Although I didn't want to harm him, I also didn't want to have him in our food or all over our clean kitchen. Today is relaxing day. A little work, a little pampering (nails done) and a little pool.

Keith is home cutting hedges. Our neighbor (a very nosy one) comes out and says "You need to learn how to cut hedges." Well, the woman we bought our home from had not done any major yardwork for years so the hedges are very thick and full. He can only cut the top and is not able to "get in deep" to cut them back. So, she sees them as being crooked and decides to tell him what to do. Then, she questions him about getting rid of these huge arbividas (sp?) that are way too big and half dead. "Yes, we are....in the winter when my son has time to pull them out." She questions him on "winter?" And I say lucky for her I was not out there because I may have told her to do it herself or pay for them to be done since it does cost money to pull them out.....and we have only lived here for 9 months and done alot to get the place into shape. I think she may not realize that I do not like to be messed with by "nosy neighbors".

One a lighter and more exciting note.....Keith bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee last night. He got a 2002 for below invoice and got almost what he wanted for trade-in on his truck. Of course, I am driving it because it has always been one of my dream cars. It is inferno red which means we have 2 red vehicles but ....we like them so who cares? It has alot of fun stuff to get used to....will update you more as I find them.

Two things this beautiful humidity-free, sunny morning in PA.
1. We have a mouse. Not Mickey, and not a pet. One that scared the shit out of me last night when I was home alone. We think it came up a drain pipe we have to use for our washer. So today, Keith is on the "kill mouse patrol".

2. If the world revolves around you, then why did my mother always ask me if I thought it revolved around me when I was a teenager? Something to ponder. But anyway, you don't frighten me....or whatever. Just wanted you to know.

Ooops....one more thing....
3. Welcome Home, Deb! Glad you are back and happy the girls made it back from first day of school.....sounds like Katie's teacher is great. Hope Em likes hers as well.

Bye for a while. We are off to order new carpeting for our stairs.

Vacations for 2002: March/April-San Diego to visit brother and sister in law.
June---Myrtle Beach with my family? still up in the air since mom has to plan it
November---Walt Disney World in FL....I have never been there.
Any other suggestions.....we like to travel so we enjoy going "new" places. And when you go visit family you get to stay there. Want us to visit you?

Keith and I celebrated our 2 month anniversary with dinner on Thursday, and last night as I was doing "house" stuff, it hit me again.....this is MY house and I live here with my husband. What? Where? Who? I know I got married---was there at the wedding, but somedays its just hard to see the reality. I kind of feel like a kid "playing house". Do you ever have moments like that? Ones where its hard to believe its real?

***sigh*** I really need to get my act together and have a regular pattern of blogging. I try and do well, and then ~whoosh~ something else claims my time. But here I am after a few days away with many things to talk about. So, where do I start? How about a quick "what I did for the past 4 days"
The leadership workshop with the kids lasted until Thursday. It was hot, hot, hot and they drank a lot of water, but I think that most of them learned something and all of them said it was "better than expected". And, its over for another summer. After it was over, and I had a fun and interesting conversation with our principal, Keith and I drove to the car dealership to look at Jeep Libertys. However, the man he likes to deal with was on vacation, so we left and went to Sears where we bought a new phone and answering machine for our living room.....yeah!! It will be up and working as soon as I cancel our voice mail through Verizon. We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse and it was a fun time and good food. Headed home to our airconditioned home, and rested.
On Friday, Janene and I went to the mall where Kaufmanns was having a great clearance PLUS 15% off if you used your Kaufmann's charge. So I got lots of fun things for school (which means work). For about 220 dollars, I got 3 pair of shoes, 2 dresses, 11 shirts, and a skirt. My main concern with clothes was that I had 3 skirts with little to match them....so I found some at the sale. Most of the clothes are Elisabeth (Clairborne) which I will never buy unless it is a fantastic deal. And it was. So, I can start back to work with some cool, new stuff, and I also used this as an opportunity to get rid of clothes in my closet that I have not worn in over a year. Good Will here I come.
Yesterday was pool day....and then I cleaned out my closet and started to organize stuff for my yardsale in September. We have a lot of household stuff to sell, books and some of my clothes I will put out to see if there is anyone interested. We also have a few pieces of furniture at my Dad's so I will have photos of that to see if there is interest. My aunt told me today that she would come and bring her stuff too so we have "multi-family". I know my Mom wanted to be part but she won't be here until October and I don't think she will feel like having a yardsale right after she moves.
Today, I went to dinner at my grandmothers and caught up with all the relatives and saw my Dad's 12 rolls of film from Idaho/Washington/Wyoming. He has some amazing photos and I would like to frame about 10 or 12 for him and make a collage on his huge blank wall in his townhouse. I think he might actually allow me to do that. He has lived there for over 2 years and has done little in re-decorating anything from the woman who lived there before him.

All in all, a good weekend. I got to make breakfast for my honey, and spend time with him before he left for work. I relaxed but also got things accomplished. And since this is my last full week of "vacation" before school begins, I intend to relax and enjoy the sun, my friends, and a few good books. (And my husband, but that is a given!!)
