Tuesday, August 07, 2001The heat really hit me yesterday. After stopping by the grocery store for salad fixings for dinner, I went home to my air conditioned house, and slept for an hour while I waited for Keith to get home. He had a workshop after his shift to learn how to give saliva drug and alcohol tests at work. Interesting stuff they can do these days.Called my Mom to see if Bill was in town so Keith could go and help for a few hours, and she didn't return my phone call which leads both of us to think she may have come into Pittsburgh with Bill. If she did and doesn't call, I think I may be a bit more irritated with her than I already am. I think she needs a serious attitude adjustment these days. Well, my break is almost over, so I will hope to be back later.
Monday, August 06, 200145 minutes of peace. It is lunchtime at our workshop and I am enjoying the lack of teenage voices who don't seem to remember the talk softly part of speaking. Or maybe I am just too hot and tired to deal with it. Our heatwave continues with temps above the 90s and 80% humidity with very little air moving. The air conditioner in our home works great only on the first floor which makes sleeping difficult. And yesterday we were outside in heat from 4 pm until about 11.Last night was the Montgomery Gentry/Toby Keith/Brooks and Dunn concert. It was great and worth it all to hear Toby sing "How do you like me now?" live and in person. Our seats were under the cover and were not lawn seats so we had a great view. And I danced. By myself with hundreds of others but not Keith or our friends. I don't know why it does but that song just makes me want to dance. And I did. We had a good time although my poor sweetie was sooooo hot. He just sweats so much but after a while the sun went down and he was better. Ok, more to do in my time here while the kids eat and socialize. I hope to be on tonight to update and to guest blog at Sometimes I.......Later!!
