Singing and dancing through life with a Notre Dame grad, high school counselor, and a June bride-to-be

short and to the point today. the painting of the spare room is done except for the baseboard on one wall. i may have to ask keith to do that one since i think i have run out of time before the weekend of april 14th and i hate to wait that long.
the shower is over. it was very nice and went very smoothly although my feet hurt (which does not bode well for tomorrow's all day spaghetti dinner.) anyway, jacquie is such a sweetheart. she was so appreciative of everything and helped out with the clean up which i have seen bride's not do. i am happy that i got a chance to meet her through ed who not only works for keith but is one of my former students. i know jacquie is beginning the countdown to her wedding which is in5 weeks. (ours is 11 but more on that tomorrow night when i have more time) right now, i am off to bake a cake for tomorrow's dinner.
deb, sue, heather, shana, amanda....hugs out to you for the tough week you have had and sending good thoughts for a better one coming up. hope you all know i care....
i have so much to say but no time. guess tomorrow will be good enough for a long long ramble. so be prepared and bring your coffee. i have much to talk about.

Good Morning. It is Friday which is a good thing although I have a packed weekend. Today, I paint and organize and wrap shower gift and prizes. Tomorrow I have to set up, attend, serve at and most likely clean up at the shower so I expect this to be an 8 hour event. UGH! But I guess mine will be like that for my bridesmaids although I believe they were looking for a place that would serve the food and clean up rather than a fire hall.
Sunday is a benefit spaghetti dinner that I have to 1) make a dessert for 2) work at all day because I volunteereed 3)make sure I sell my tickets and finally, try to have a few laughs with my friends.
And then, its back to work. I am sure Monday will be an OK day since we have a workshop with an amazing speaker on School Law and legalities of such things as weapons, searches and such. I know you all wish you could come with me.
Hugs out to Heather.....Yea!! about Shawn and for the relaxing weekend. (and yuck on the cramps)
And yes, I picked out the cake. It is a stacked one rather than one with platforms. It is no flowers, no topper. Instead it has icing flowers cascading down the one side and they will be pale yellow or pale green. I guess I will have to make sure I get pictures of all this stuff for posting after the big event. (we are down to 11 weeks)....
And, for you especially, I watched Charmed....and decided I too want a book of spells to vanquish demons who hurt others. Did you see it yet, Deb? It was a fairly calm one but had good flashbacks. I think I need to do some research on how they all ended up together again.
Had a speaker here on eating disorders yesterday for Junior and Senior girls. Hope they listened because with prom season coming so many of them get into the "no eating" and even puking actions. She also talked about body image and remembering what is important.
OK, for now....bye....have a student coming in to speak of college.

And how fast can YOU type? NO, that is not a real question, just one to ask myself as I try to update bloggy land while on my 20 minute lunch break.
Random happenings and thoughts:
Janene and I went out for drink and late dinner (after I ran a group) and talked the entire time. We need to get together more often to do that. She is one of my best friends, and I know we are both caught up in our lives, but we need time together. We decided to start a book club with only the 2 of us since we both like to read and then discuss. Once a month. Starting with Stephen King's newest I think. I like making plans to do things once month....once you get in the habit, you stick to it well.
M.J and I used to do dinner at an Entertainment book place once a month. We have drifted out of that, but I think once her twins are off to college in the fall, we can start up again. More time to talk, and catch up. And friends are important.
I have learned this about myself. I hate when other people I care about are hurting and I cannot do anything. I would rather feel the pain myself than see someone else worried or hurt. I am thinking about you.
Today is "pick out the cake day" so I have an appointment after school. Talked to MOM and all she said was make sure there is enough.
It is raining here---hmmmmm big surprise for spring in PA----I think not.
Keith is being a sweetheart as I am continuously coming up with new ideas for the office and the spare bedroom. As long as I do the work, he can live with it. (Have you ever watched Trading Spaces on the learning channel---weird ideas sometimes, but I love the show.)
A month from Friday, I move. *sigh* and still so many books to pack.
More thoughts later.

An entire weekend with no blogging. And not too much to update, but I will try.
Went out to the mall Saturday am, and the woman who was supposed to do my make-over was not there, and did not start until 1:00 pm. Needless to say, I was pissed for having traveled there, and no one else offered to do it. But I did get some needed shopping done. I got the shower gifts for J.'s shower this coming weekend. I got some new tights which I desperately need, and I got a few other odds and ends. Got home in time to catch some of QVC's St. Patrick Day special, and got myself a pair of sterling claddaugh earrings. Keith got home, said he was not going to the bachelor party for E., and then changed his mind. So, he left, and I headed to KMart for paint.
After waiting for an hour (the woman who arrived minutes before me needed 8 gallons mixed!!!), I got my paing and headed home. Just read and watched TV. Sunday morning, I was at the house early---painting the spare room "yellow rose". I got the trim all around the doors and 3 walls finished. I am planning on doing the rest Friday afternoon. I accomplished this project all alone, and it looks pretty good (if I do say so myself).
My only other accomplishment this weekend was cooking and laundry. I tried 2 new recipes with success. Barbeque beef cups for Saturday, and Chicken A L'orange for Sunday. Both were met with smiles from my honey. And I realized that I need to get packing books and stuff. The move to the house for all of my stuff is April 23rd.
But now, I need to get back to work. Will give you more later.
