Singing and dancing through life with a Notre Dame grad, high school counselor, and a June bride-to-be

Its Friday, and I stayed home from work today. I was feeling chills all night and didn't sleep. Finally, about 7:45 (after I called in sick) I slept. Until 10 am which is so unlike me. I feel much better right now, and am getting stuff together to go over to the house. But a few quick notes.
I just finished reading James Patterson---1st to Die. I really liked it, and if you like his work, you will not be disappointed even though it is not about Alex Cross. Very good characters and twists and turns.
Went out with friends last night---before I was feeling sickish, and we had some good conversation and laughs. Needed to do that with them, and it helped get me through the "friendless" mood I was feeling.
Tomorrow I have a makeover appointment, and I have to shop for shower prizes. I also want to get the paint for the spare room and my library so Keith and I can both get started on our respective jobs. He and E. finished my shelves. I have 5 shelves with 21 shelves and over 19 feet of shelf space (that is only going up the wall. 4 of them are 4 feet wide and one is 2 feet!!!!) My books will have a home.
Well, I need to get moving here. I will blog later tomorrow about my shopping experience.
OH, yeah, my final news is that I am getting a new imac computer in the very near future. will have lots of memory since i get some free!!! this is exciting news for me since the computer i use now either is my mom's (at home) or the schools!! i will have my very own!!! WOW!!

I really was going to blog last night, but energy was gone. I had DUI counseling group, and it went surprisingly well. There are still a few who I believe will be back because NOTHING about this is their fault....all the police, the system, the government, etc. Regardless of who they dealt with, the bottom line is that these people were over the limit and were arrested. And they only got that way by drinking. Is that so hard to see?
But on to a better topic. I was browsing blogs and I found this (love-productions.com/the kitchen) which is a recipe/cookbook discussion site started by Kristine at Hopeless Romantics
(Sorry about lack of link---imacs don't have the link key) Now, when I mentioned collections of candles and bath gels, I forgot to mention that I love cookbooks----especially those local ones or the "church" ones you can get for fundraisers. I do try new recipes, but some nights I like to just read them. Anyone else find they do that? This is a fairly new site, but I will keep you updated on any favorite or cool sounding recipes.
Keith did go to my house. The animal---whatever it was is gone. (Thank goodness!!!) But I did look under there this AM just to make sure.
Shana---license plates for PA are changing. The new ones are white with blue and gold highlights. I have an older blue with gold writing that says "You have a friend in Pennsylvania" across the top. Mine is also a Notre Dame alumni one with ND00000 (not my number but I can't remember it) as the ID. You can also get wildlife ones and a few other special ones, but most have the new white or the older blue.
Sandra??? Are you OK? I hope just busy with school.
Karen---I am happy to hear that the counseling meeting went well for your MIL. Maybe some healing can happen now. You and Ron are in my thoughts.
Laura---my bridesmaids range in size too--from a 18 to a 4. The dress is lilac and simple (no flowers) Since I wear a larger size, I am very aware of the lack of choices. But I am also in a wedding where we got a simple red dress----now it is not something I would ever pick, but I can live with it....although it was 100 dollars more than mine. (as long as they adjust it so i feel like I can move) You are very understanding to just wear the flowers. I had many comments from a few of my bridesmaids. But I went with what I wanted in the end which is I think what most brides do.
Tonight I teach an Underage Drinking class which I dread. This group is always a challenge, but I think I can make it through 3 hours. I prefer the DUI classes and groups, but every 4 months or so, I have to throw one of these in.

Hello. I am back. Didn't know I was missing? Well, it seems a dump truck hit the telephone pole that connects my server with the world. So no internet access until last night at 9:30 pm, and I was too lazy to post. (plus I thought I might miss a fun phone call if I was on-line too long.....and it was fun!!)
It is raining here. Hard, pounding rain. Which I guess is better than snow because it is safer to drive in, and it is warmer. However, it also makes it gray.
Not alot happening here. I have been busy organizing the house, supervising the shelf-building happening on the third floor of the house (for my library---which I have always wanted) and just doing things like stamping response envelopes for the wedding.
Also, found out I need 3 prizes for the shower on the 24th. I am a bridesmaid, but the matron of honor did everything with the bride. Makes me happy my friends did all my stuff----I like surprises sometimes!! Anyway, any suggestions for "good" prizes. I was thinking candle, bath stuff.....maybe a spring kind of pitcher/glass set. Supposed to be around 5.00 so I guess shopping is in my future.
I need to get some work done so I will be back after lunch. But I do have one last thing. This morning, a cat ran out from under my steps as I was walking down from my 2nd floor apartment. So, I glanced under to see what he or she was doing. And there was a dead something under there........EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW!!!!! I think it may be a rabbit but I don't know, and I don't intend to find out for myself. Once Keith sleeps enough (he worked midnight), I intend to call and ask him sweetly to go and get it out of there. IIIICCCCCKKKKK!!!

well, i guess it has been a couple of days hasn't it? i was going to post on friday at work but i was feeling kind of sick---stuffed head and sore throat. it is gone so i must be ok....hope i can make it to spring without another cold/flu attack.
i had a busy and somewhat productive weekend. friday afternoon, keith and i drove out to a bridal salon for me to get fitted for a bridesmaid dress for april. need to go back on april 6th....hope they get it right this time. then i went home and sorted over 1000 dollars of Pampered Chef stuff. (i guess delivering them was going to be part of this weekend!!) i stayed at the house while keith worked midnight---my first night there with no one else around.
saturday keith took my car for inspection and emissions testing (50 bucks) and then we went out to look at tuxes and grocery shopping.. both were successful trips. so now the tuxes are ordered!!! we got basic, simple black with notch collars (not rounded), a white on white vest for keith and a black and silver swirl for the groomsmen. and did i mention that we had to get a new best man? keith's friend bill is not in very good health and he told keith last weekend, he could not do it. so keith moved another friend in his place and asked a friend to be usher---and mikey was very excited to do it so i don't feel bad about him being asked so late.
then, keith took a nap after dinner----and i went to the mall. only bought a few clear plates for a craft and a shower gift. but i did browse a little and am planning to go back for a makeover next saturday.
today was a delivery day.....took me 3 hours and i still have about 8 people's orders to deliver. i also spent ALOT of time this weekend organizing our kitchen and moving things around for me to "feel good" with the placement. it was busy, but i feel like i got alot done. and tomorrow i will finish putting my stuff away and delivering.
back to work---have a list of kids to meet with and things to mail. i work 2 nights this week which is the first in 3 weeks so it will be a change. however, the dui group is getting better so i am not as stressed on tuesdays. now it will move to wednesday when i have to teach the underage drinking class.
3 MONTHS TO THE WEDDING!!! i cannot believe it. seems like we just started planning and now we are in the final phases. i have started making lists of things i need to do and when i would like to have it accomplished. i am not always a list person, but i need to feel in control of this.
ok, well i have ebay stuff to pack and have to put sheets on the bed so i should close for now. maybe later---maybe tomorrow. i have caught up on most blogs and my thoughts are with you all even though i don't have the time to say what i want right now. hope to later. take care of you!!
